getsby:

koolkidseatgreens:

Well ok Kesha, maybe it’s because you’re an auto tuned peice of shit who shouldn’t be famous, you have no Buisness being in the music industry, it’s not even your music you fuck, someone else wrote it for you to record and them to auto tune yourself. And it’s not at all good . It’s not positive either. So complain some more.

I don’t know if you know this, tumblr user koolkidseatgreens, but Ke$ha is a certified genius. She has an IQ over 140 and an SAT score of 1500. When she was younger she would go to the library and do research for fun. Ke$ha is a both feminist and an advocate for equal marriage/rights for people of any sexuality, being a queer woman herself.

Ke$ha is a smart, professional woman, and just because she sings songs about wanting to let loose and have fun every once in a while doesn’t make her a piece of shit.

Ke$ha’s songs are meant to point out the sexism in our media. She treats men the same way many men in the music industry treat women, and she is hated on for it. Relentlessly. She sings on multiple occasions about taking charge in a sexual relationship, of how she only uses men for their body parts. She sexualizes men to make them uncomfortable. She sexualizes men for a reaction, so that people can both see why women are so uncomfortable with their sexualization and also to point out the inequality between the sexes both in the media and in the world at large.

She is judged so harshly for singing about things that make many men famous.

If you listen to Ke$ha’s deconstructed album you will see that she actually has some talent, which may be hard to hear because she does in fact use a fair amount of autotune. This is because of her genre and because of the kind of music she chooses to create as an artist. Ke$ha may not write her songs, but this doesn’t meant she isn’t a good artist or a good person. This doesn’t mean she deserves your harsh words. Some singers are good at writing, but that’s hardly a requirement. Last time I checked whether or not you can sing has nothing to do with whether or not you’re a poet.

You should not be calling anyone a piece of shit, my friend, especially someone you’ve never sat down and had a conversation (or even taken the time to wonder about her feelings!), but if anyone deserves that kind of language it’s not Ke$ha.

You may think that by shaming women for expressing their sexuality and having fun every once in a while, that you are somehow abolishing sexism. That in weeding out the less ‘deserving’ women you are gaining our sex more respect. This is not the case, and the fact that you and many others feel such a strong need to shame this woman who has done nothing wrong, especially not to you, shows that we still have a very far away to go.

that said, her repeated use of transphobic slurs ARE something that is a valid criticism.

^that, and also kesha definitely writes and co-writes <strike>some</strike> of her own songs and I don’t know where the idea that she doesn’t came from

actually most of her songs

Does anyone know what interview this is from?

As a dedicated Bruins fan, I have assembled a list of places where I have watched the games throughout this season: my towne house, at a bar, at my parent’s house, on my phone via the bruins app, on my phone via the live feed, on my phone via sports websites, at the airport, on a plane (yes, while it was in flight to cali!), annnd at an executive suite at the garden. Of which, I was supposed to be at tonight, but that fell through, so our fans best be showing the greatest dedication at the game tonight or else I will be so sad.

I’ll Have What She’s Having

‘What Do Women Want?’

“When it comes to the study of female sexuality, scientists have tended to see what they expect, or want, to see, and there are fewer established facts than you would think. “Despite all the powers of contemporary science,” Bergner writes, “the seemingly straightforward anatomical question, is there a G spot? remains unanswered.” …

Female ejaculation has a similar history of discovery, denial, incredulous rediscovery, lingering unknowns. Now, researchers who work with animals argue that female anatomy in fact might be specifically adapted to sex with multiple partners — not just over a lifetime, but in the course of a single sexual episode. The different pace at which men and women build to climax might have the purpose of facilitating sex with multiple men in short succession, which would increase the odds of getting pregnant. Paraphrasing a theory put forward by the primatologist and anthropologist Sarah Blaffer Hrdy, Bergner writes that the characteristics of female orgasm “could well be thoroughly relevant among our ancestors. Its delay, its need of protracted sensation … was evolution’s method of making sure that females are libertines, that they move efficiently from one round of sex to the next and frequently from one partner to the next, that they transfer the turn-on of one encounter to the stimulation of the next, building toward climax.”

If this is true, then female orgasm has played a crucial role in successful human reproduction — even though it is not necessary to conception itself.

So where does that leave us? Should we join swingers’ clubs? Have threesomes? Cheat with the piano tuner?

Only at our own risk. Bergner acknowledges that people agree to monogamy not because it’s the sexiest possible arrangement but because it seems the best way to have things like emotional stability and trust and therefore long-term companionship, which appears to be something both human males and females want — even if they also want to sleep around. One could imagine a more drawn-out examination of whether monogamy is indeed the best foundation for long-term relationships, given that both men and women (studies now show) sometimes find the strictures stifling to sexual happiness. In reading this book, I was reminded of the columnist Dan Savage’s long-running contention that heterosexual couples would have more stable relationships if they had a less rigid devotion to the ideal of monogamy. But Bergner doesn’t linger on the puzzles of long-term couplehood. The human tendency to become intensely attached to particular sex partners doesn’t figure in here. Instead, the book’s disparate parts are held together by Bergner’s general insistence on the very existence and force of female lust. Bergner proceeds as if the value of being called “animal,” of being considered highly libidinous, were self-evident — as if such charges had never been used against women. The fact that scientific and medical study of women’s reproductive systems has over the last three centuries been a fun house of ethically questionable experiments and misogynistic pronouncements doesn’t weigh as heavily on this book as you might expect. It is with apparently innocent enthusiasm that Bergner describes scenes of women masturbating while hooked up to M.R.I. scanners and having their vaginal blood flow measured by machines.”

Read on.

Here’s how it works: After female users ages 18 and up access the app and sync it toFacebook, they can add a guy to the database and upload a picture. All users are anonymous — no names included — and activities are kept off Facebook. But if you come across a profile that might be of interest to someone you know, you can share profiles with Facebook friends. Hashtags can also be added to the guy’s profile, so characteristics are searchable.

Do-it-yourself brain stimulation has scientists worried as healthy people try to make their minds work better
Dave Siever always fancied himself as something of a musician, but also realized he did not necessarily sing or play in perfect key.

Then he strapped on the electrodes of a device made by his Edmonton company, and zapped his brain’s auditory cortex with a mild dose of electricity. The result, he claims, was a dramatic improvement in his ability to hear pitch, including the sour notes he produced himself.

“Now I tune everything and I practise my singing over and over and over again, because I’m more sensitive to it.”

Mr. Siever was not under the supervision of a doctor or psychologist, and nor is he one himself. He is part of an extraordinary trend that has amateur enthusiasts excited, and some scientists deeply nervous: do-it-yourself brain stimulation.

The device he used delivers transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), a technology that researchers worldwide have used to produce a flood of intriguing, if preliminary, studies in recent years. They suggest tDCS can both treat diseases like depression and make healthy people’s minds work better. (Photo: Jason Franson for National Post)

anyway, this guy who happens to be a Marine & a southern sweet heart (two of the most opposite things I find attractive in a male) is trying to woo me. and he’s really attractive and nice and is friends with my friends and all of the right things that are suppose to be happening are happening when it comes to meeting someone new. and I hate it. because he is a fucking marine. ugh. I’m just going to go with the flow and see what happens. hah

it’s funny though because the last time I saw him was in september at a wedding. he was the best man for seriously, the biggest douche bag, womanizing asshole I have ever met. anyway, the marine’s date was a total bitch and was trying to be all ‘you’re my best friend & I just met you 5 seconds ago, and let me fill you in on my love life & tell you how I’m going to marry this kid’ and she kept getting wicked jealous every time he would talk to another girl. but this kid, like I said before, is wicked nice and talks to everyone, so it wasn’t like he was trying to make her mad like she crazily thought.

anyway, later that night she wanted me dead because he kept talking to me and he ignoring her, rightly so, bc she kept getting in fights with him while everyone else was trying to have a good time (its a wedding- get drunk!) so yeah they broke up. and now he’s talking to me. also, the wedding ended after 2 months and the ex groom (sexist bastard aka marine’s best friend) wants my shit. like for real, he won’t stop texting me/sending me gross shirt-less pics that show his “praise the lord” chest tatt (groooosssssss). I’m trying really hard to not be mean and/or make him think that I enjoy this crap b/c I can’t afford him hating me- he’s friends with all my guy friends and I just don’t want it to be weird. so I’m sucking it up and pretending to be a virgin. LOL! also I don’t even want to be in a relationship right now so this is all kind of hilarious.

images of some geothermal features at yellowstone. old faithful is behind me in the bottom photo and right above that on the right. it supposedly erupts every 20mins to 2hrs20mins. we waited 40mins since it went off right before we got there. it’s different than i pictured it, a lot of places for viewing. but my favorite natural occurrences were the hot springs you’d come across just hiking in the woods, where no tourists were! i also loved the top right, part of the midway geyser basin, cos the hot water erupted then went directly into the river creating a bunch of steam.
